Starfires Clinch First ACAC Volleyball Title Since 1997

The South Adams girls volleyball team has done something that hasn't been done since 1997, clinch a share of the ACAC title. Their win at Woodlan (25-16, 25-15, 25-18) the other night over clinced the Starfires at least a share of the title. They host Adams Central Thursday night in an ACAC match-up and an undfeated conference record.

The Starfires are 17-5 on the season.

South Adams Volleyball Head Coach Ashley Buckingham

I am very proud of the Starfires and what they have accomplished so far this season. The girls work very hard to use their gifts and talents to the best of their ability. As a team we have focused on playing the game with confidence, consistency, unity, and self-discipline and this mindset has played a big role in their success. We are very excited to clinch a share of the ACAC title and we hope to play well again this Thursday against Adams Central. South Adams has not won an ACAC round robin title since 1997 and I could not be prouder of this group of ladies for once again bringing the title to Starfire Volleyball.

Each member of our team has contributed greatly throughout ACAC play. Our defensive specialists, Emma Rosswurm and Shania Neal, and our outside hitters, Morgan Alberson and Caralie Farlow, have been key to our success through their tough defense and serve receive play. Our setter, Julia Grabau, is a hero for the team for without her consistent and great play our offense would not be able to take shape. Finally, our hitters, Morgan Alberson, Caralie Farlow, Jade Farlow, Addie Wanner, and Madi Wurster all do an amazing job of finishing plays for us. In each match they come alive to lead the team with their aggressive play. We are thankful for our success this season but we will continue to work hard to improve our performance and hopefully end the season strong.
