Kurt Warner's 'SON' Shines Bright In Arizona
(10-16-16) Sunday morning on 'NFL GameDay' on the NFL Network there was a touching moment. Super Bowl QB Kurt Warner, one of the show's members was watching the highlightlights of his son Kade. The younger Warner, who plays for (Scottsdale) Desert Mountain High School, on Friday night caught eight passes for 164 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 49-42 upset win over Horizon to become the Arizona career leader in receptions. When they came back to dad (Kurt) he had welled up with tears in his eyes, when asked about his son's accomplishment:
"He's even a better person than he is a football player."
It was a touching moment, the love of the son by his dad. To make it even more special, Kurt Warner has been the offensive coordinator for the Wolves this season.
Kade Warner now has 225 career catches for 2,692 yards and 33 touchdowns. The old career record was 221. Warner is not done yet, Desert Mountain still has two regular season games remaining.
When asked about his accomplishment he told www.azcentral.com:
"It was an unbelievable feeling when I realized I had broken the record. I actually broke it on the beginning of a drive and didn't realize I had until my friend told me on the sideline.
Looking back on it now, it means a lot to my teammates and me, showing the work we have put into the past couple years.
I couldn't have done this without them or my coaches I have had over the years," he said. "The cumulation of all my football has lead to this, and I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to where I am today."
It has been a tough season for the Wolves who are currently 2-6 under first year head coach David Sedmak, but the good news is that after losing six in a row to start the season they have now won two in a row and will play at O'Connor Friday night.
Look for Kade to continue at the college level, his first offer happened this past May:
