The 'GOLDEN' Arms of Mercer County
Only players who hold their school's record are listed above.
(10-2-16) Several high profile names are missing from some of the best all-time quarterbacks in Mercer County. St. Henry's Bobby Hoying (Ohio State), Celina's Jeff Wiley (Holy Cross) and Mike Bath (Miami (Ohio) ), those three had stellar careers after high school.
The group who does show up on the all-time list are all pretty deserving. Keith Wenning only played one season (2009) at QB for John Reed and Coldwater. The Cavs would go 13-2 and end up as DV State runner-ups, in what would be Reed's final season as head coach, he would pass away in May (2010) after his battle with esophageal cancer. Wenning in 15 games would throw for 3,629 yards, enough to still hold the Coldwater and Mercer County record for a single season.

Braden Billger put up one of the Top 10 single game passing records in the State of Ohio in 2010 when he threw for 589 yards over Lima Shawnee in 2010. He also had two games passing for over 400 yards during his career, 2010 vs Van Wert with 479 yards and against Shawnee again in 2011 with 425 yards. Over his career he had eight games with 300 or more yards passing.
