For most of the regular season it looked like Kirtland and Marion Local would meet again to decide the D VI State title in Columbus. That was until Cuyahoga Heights beat the Hornets (October 21st), for the first time since 2009, 21-0 in a Chagrin Valley Conference game and stopping Kirtland's 51-game CVC winning streak. To prove it was not a 'fluke' they beat them again in the Regional Championship game 17-0, two wins and two shut-outs.

Last night Cuyahoga Heights moved to 14-0 on the season as the Redskins picked up a 30-14 win over Newark Catholic in an OHSAA D VI state semifinal Friday night at Red Rider Stadium in Orrville and advance to their first ever title game. The Redskins have made it a habit to score quickly outscoring their opponents 153-7 in the first quarter this season. They score almost 35 points a game on offense and scored 40 points or more in six of their wins.

The defense has given up just 7.8 points a game. The Redskins have three shut-outs, two coming in the playoffs. They also held opponents to 7 points or less in seven other games.
