All-Time Mercer County Football Defensive Leaders

The all-time school records from each individual Mercer County school is only listed, also note Coldwater did not include 2001-2002 sacks and tackles numbers.

(10-12-16) Coldwater leads many of the all-time Mercer County defensive records. This includes one of the all-time greats for the Cavs Ross Homan, who went on to star at Ohio State. Homan led the the county in a single-season for tackles in 2004 with 219. Homan is also the career leader in sacks with 22.

The all-time career tackles leader is Coldwater's Jordan Chapin (who open enrolled from Celina) with 708 tackles during his four year career as a Cav.

Ft. Recovery's Adam LeFevre is the single season sacks leader with 18.5 last season, that helped the Indians to their first state title.

Another Cav, Cory Klenke, leads the county in single-season interceptions with 11 in 2007. St. Henry's Bobby Hoying is the all-time career leader in pass interceptions in his career with 21. Hoying, who had an All-American career at Ohio State as a QB, does not hold any offensive records in the county.

1991 Ohio High School Regional Championship basketball game. Last second shot by Jill Froning for unranked Celina wins the game over Ohio's #1 rated Pickerington (were also rated in USA Today Top 5)...Celina went on to win the Ohio D1 State Championsip game. Game was played at Bellefontaine HS, Dave Schmidt doing the play-by-by for Celina Cable TV.
