State Cross Country Meet-Parkway Finishes 11th, St. Henry 17th

(11-5-16) Parkway's Boys Cross Country team put together one of their best meets of the season placing 11th at the OHSAA State Finals.

The Panthers, making their first ever trip to State, all of the Top 5 finished well under the 18 minute mark. The Panthers had a team score of 277 and just missed the top Top 10 by 10 points to Liberty Center. Senior Ben Schlemmer led the way with a 16:54.7 time to finish 28th in the team race, Sophomore Matt Gaerke finished 43rd with a 17:10.9 race. Two Freshman were next Kyle Roth was 59th and Aaron Bruns was 66th. Junior Reid Etzcorn had a good day with an 81st place finish.

St, Henry, the current MAC Champs, came in 17th, led by Junior Devin Huelskamp who finished 37th with a time of 17:06.8, Senior Sean Muhlenkamp was 55th with a time of 17:25.5. Junior Brayden Hoying was 71st, Sophomores Blake Ontrop and Seth Brookhart were 82nd and 109th.

1991 Ohio High School Regional Championship basketball game. Last second shot by Jill Froning for unranked Celina wins the game over Ohio's #1 rated Pickerington (were also rated in USA Today Top 5)...Celina went on to win the Ohio D1 State Championsip game. Game was played at Bellefontaine HS, Dave Schmidt doing the play-by-by for Celina Cable TV.
